New Tales from the Old Sea

Story event on board the Lightship in Bristol

Saturday 19th March 2022

We were delighted to be part of the inaugural Cabot Cruising Lightship Arts Festival, and to tell our stories on board a real ship!  We told stories of mermaids and sea creatures, of wild seas and wild swimmers. We had stories set on ferries crossing the English Channel and stories set on smaller, more perilous boats. To cap it all we had John Cabot himself before he set off from Bristol on his great sea voyage. Our stories were compelling and moving, funny and beautiful, and definitely not to be missed.

Fabulous stories, great performances, fabulous venue: loved it!*

Great venue and great stories. Most refreshing!*

A huge thank you to Briony Pope of the Lightship Theatre. And thank you to writers David Mathews, India Rodgers, Elaine Miles, Elizabeth Carter, Dylan Spicer and Brian Weaving, plus performers Alexandra Ricou, Steve Harding and Michael Stevens.
