Pink Room: This cosy room forms part of the ‘modern’ extension to the house, built across the 18th and 19th centuries. Today it’s a cosy bedroom, with a single bed, a writing desk, and a sink tucked away in the corner. The main bathroom is a short walk across the hallway. The large window seat is an ideal spot to soak up the evening sun as it streams through the westerly window.

Loft Rooms: There are two sleeping spaces in this suite of rooms at the top of the house; one with a double bed and one with a single bed. These spaces are separated by curtains which can be fully closed. It’s got the best views in the house, looking out across to Selsley common on the one side, and up to Standish woods on the other. There is a small communal seating area, writing desks, and the whole space feels light and bright. There is a small sink in the loft, and you would be using the main family bathroom (back down one floor). The stairs are narrow with a handrail, and might not suit someone with limited mobility.

The Blue Room has an ensuite bathroom. The Yellow Room has an ensuite loo. The Pink Room and the Loft both have basins. The main bathroom will be shared by up to four guests.

Catface: is a beautiful, elderly cat who lives here too. She keeps to herself but might pop in to say hello if you leave your bedroom door open!

Other Accommodation

There are quite a few options for reasonable places to stay within walking distance of 2 Field Place. Writers who have stayed overnight elsewhere and joined the retreat during the day and for the evening have found the accommodation/retreat has worked very well for them.

All the facilities of 2 Field Place (apart from the bedrooms) are available to writers on the retreat wherever they are staying.  There is a small extra cost of £10 for breakfast for the weekend for guests staying elsewhere.

We can recommend Crown Cottage, situated directly opposite 2 Field Place. This charming cottage has two bedrooms, one double, one twin, ideal if you want to buddy up with a writing friend. It is an Air BnB rental and you can view it/book it here.  One word of warning: it is next door but one to a pub, which can be a tad noisy on a Saturday night in the summer during an England game...

There is a Premier Inn which is about  a twenty minute walk from the house.

Or consider searching on Air BnB near to 2 Field Place - the What-Three-Words reference for the house is yachting.bulb.crouches. There are a number of rooms available in the Paganhill area, of varying costs and amenities.
