Long Story Short is a brand new evening of story telling from A Word In Your Ear. Writer-performer Clare Reddaway teams up with a fellow author to bring you a bunch of stories full of vim, vigour and wit.
On 17th March Clare welcomed Story Friday regular Philip Douch to Clifton Library, Bristol. Clare and Philip have been writing and reading their stories across the south-west for many years. It was an engrossing evening of warmth, drama and laughter, despite freezing temperatures outside.
“Really great, well worth suffering the freezing weather to attend!” (audience member).
Further dates for LONG STORY SHORT to come.
CLARE REDDAWAY: Clare’s short stories have been published in anthologies, on the web and in magazines, and they have won or been shortlisted for a number of prizes. ‘Clare’s writing has a wonderful lyrical quality’ [NYC Midnight judge]. ‘There is a universal quality which makes reading this fiction such a pleasure and a delight’ [NYC Midnight judge]. ‘A beautiful piece of writing,’ [Stella Feehily, playwright].
PHILIP DOUCH: Philip is a writer and performer from Stroud who has appeared frequently at Story Fridays in Bath and twice at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. Written so that he himself can read them out loud, his stories exist not on the page but between him and his audience. With a bit of luck you’ll have as much fun listening to them as Philip does performing them.
