Outside the City Walls

We had a great time at Burdall’s Yard on Friday, with some fine stories from Story Friday regulars Christine Roberts, Philip Douch, Anne Corlett, Julie Green and me, Clare Reddaway, with some writers new to Story Fridays, Doc Watson and Katherine Doggerell.  We had Kilter Theatre’s Green Roofs Choir singing in the courtyard to welcome our audience – all local songs by local people – and Jamie Huddlestone played his melodeon for us in the bar.  It was a great atmosphere, and if you were not lucky enough to be there, recordings will be up on the website soon.

In other news, I recently visited a sister event in Falmouth, Cornwall, to read a story for their ‘Splash’ evening.  Check out TellTales website here, and do go along to Dolly’s Tea House if you are in the area at any time – it was a really friendly evening with some great stories and poems.  And our new writer-performer Katherine Doggerell is a founding member of Rattle Tales, a story telling night in Brighton.   It’s great to see a chain of story events springing up across the country.
