Blue last Friday, Earshot longlist and success for Story Friday regular

It’s been a busy old week or so at A Word In Your Ear Towers…  Last week saw Story Friday Blue – one of our best ever, this was a sell-out event, with some final straggler audience members standing in the aisles to listen to our writer-performers tell us stories about swimming pools and inherited traits, about Nina Simone, Mao jackets and shop lifting, about kingfishers and love affairs from the male perspective.   We were thrilled to welcome back Jennifer Crook with a beautiful song she’d written for the event.  We were also delighted to host the Murray Waters Duo for the first time – Caroline Murray’s haunting singing of the blues entranced our audience at the bar.   With other news – the Earshot long list is announced.  Click here to see what we’ve got in store.  Short list to follow soon.  And finally, we’d all like to congratulate Anne Corlett on winning the HE Bates Prize with her stunning story Last Tango In Space.  You might have heard it last March at Story Friday Mars.  If not, we highly recommend that you listen to it here – scroll down the page to find it.
